What makes a talented writer? In my opinion, it's passion, curiosity and creativity. While studying print and multimedia journalism at Emerson College in Boston, I continue to learn how to incorporate all of these facets into my writing. Starting at a young age, I've always been attracted to writing and now, entering my senior year of college, I continue to pursue this passion.
I've written numerous stories for my school paper, The Berkeley Beacon, which won various awards throughout the years of it's publication. I also had stories published in The New Haven Register, the second largest paper in my home state of Connecticut. While mainly a sports writer, I have also written hard news stories for my classes.
Sports, however, is another passion of mine. The youngest of four children, my brother and I were closest in age. Always hanging around him led me to my obsession with athletics. Growing up I was a tomboy and played soccer, softball, track and basketball, which I still play today. I am an avid follower of the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics and the men and women's UConn basketball teams. And even though Yankee fans are supposed to despise the enemy, the Red Sox are growing on me, too.
People always call me nosey. I say I'm curious; which makes me a determined writer.
